Inca Trail?
Im interested in hiking the inca trail this summer and was wondering if anyone who has done it before can recommend a moderately price treking company to book with
First of all, I think Everest cut and pasted his answer out of wikipedia or something...
Anyway, I did the Inca Trail back in September. I went through GAP ADVENTURES because they were the biggest and most knowledgeable company out there. Don't worry though, we were all seperate groups and the guide took care of everyone very well. I've also tried GAP (Great Adventure People) on trips to Costa Rica and the Galapagos. They were great. Just go to www.gapadventures.com.
Here's what to expect... There will be an international group of about 10 people with you. My group consisted of 5 Americans, 2 Dutch, 1 Brit, and 2 Aussies. Most of them were awesome. We were between the ages of 25 and 42. We camped out in dual share tents and had our food cooked and served to us on a foldout table.
Also, they will make sure you make it to Machu Picchu. We had an out of shape woman on our trip. One of the guides was determined to get her to finish so he actually carried her backpack and stayed with her the whole time. Wow.
