How can I make the bottom of my shoes not slippery?

I just got some cute flip-flop thong sandals in anticipation of the warm weather approaching-- the problem? The bottoms are pretty much the same foamy material as the rest of the shoe, which translates to them being very slippery on a lot of surfaces! Is there anything I can put on the bottoms to make them slide less? They're black, so preferably something that wouldn't look ridiculous on black.

Hairspray. Spray a little on the bottom in the morning, let it dry for a minute or two and go on your way. You may have to reapply, daily or weekly maybe.
